This section aims to provide all the relevant information with regard to hiring a preset cash register for hospitality.
How does a preset cash register record sales?
A preset till is one where all of your items (for example your menu or drinks list) are programmed into the till, with their correct price, and programmed onto a dedicated key on the cash register’s keyboard. For example, selling a pint of Carlsberg would involve the keystrokes Carlsberg (Preset button). If an item is not programmed, the item can still be sold using an Open Department (e.g. keystrokes 2-5-0-Misc Drink)
Scanning & Advanced Functions
Preset tills can carry out a number of advanced functions. Depending on the model chosen, they can have the ability to track stock quantities (e.g. you have 23 cans of Pepsi left in stock). They cannot track food recipes however. Preset tills can also be linked with a barcode scanner, if you require a package with a scanner please see the “Preset Till/Cash Register for Hospitality” section.
Receipts and Audit Rolls
All our preset hospitality tills use 2 till rolls - one roll constantly prints as you carry out your sales, and is rolled up automatically onto a spool inside the cash register. This gives you an audit or journal roll, with which you can look back at the full sales and reporting history of your cash register. The other is used to provide customer receipts if required, and to print your current financial (X) and end-of-day (Z) reports.
All our preset cash registers can be programmed to print your Company name, address, VAT number etc etc, depending on your requirements. Please note that there is a limit to the number of characters and lines that can be printed – this varies model-to-model.
What are the rental periods?
We offer a number of different options when it comes to hiring a cash register, and will always try to tailor a full package to your requirements.
As standard our minimum rental period is One Week, but we also offer longer terms, such as a 1 month rental or a 3 month rental.
What are the hardware options?
We offer 3 models of preset cash register for use in hospitality environments. They are the Geller SX-580 (no stock capability, 64 programmable item keys), the Geller SX-590 (no stock capability, 110 programmable item keys) or the Geller SX-690 (stock capability, 110 programmable item keys).
What are the rental costs?
The rental costs for a basic cash register are as follows:
1 Week (Minimum Hire Term): £45.00 + V.A.T. - Per week cost up to and including 3 weeks.
1 Month: £135.00 + V.A.T.
3 Months: £285.00 + V.A.T.
If you cannot collect the cash register and return it to us, a total charge of £25.00 + V.A.T. will be made for Courier delivery and collection.
We require a £100.00 deposit, which is fully refundable upon the safe return of the fully working cash register. Equipment must be tested by our technicians before any deposit can be refunded.
Additionally, if you would like any programming carried out other than your company details on the receipt, such as product, keyboard presets or VAT programming, there will be an additional charge of £55.00 + V.A.T.
