In a seaside town, such as Hythe in Kent, people expect local fresh fish and delicatessen produce to be readily available, at reasonable prices.

Cooks, at 92 High Street, Hythe, has been created to give people exactly that, combined with excellent service in a traditionally-styled shop.

When the creators of this exciting new venture approached New Horizon Systems, they already had big visions of what they wanted the business to achieve, and for the most part, what they needed to achieve this vision.

We were happy to advise them on the solution that we felt would render the best possible results in all aspects of the business. This included keeping day-to-day operations at a simple, easy-to-use level, in order to reduce delays and frustration, both to the customers, and those operating the system. At the same time, remote access was provided, which allows the company's accountant easy access to all aspects of reporting, from viewing the end-of-day report, to producing a stock valuation report, and producing a complete tax breakdown report for completion of the company's VAT return.

A large part of the shop's day-to-day business is the sale of weighed produce. This ranges from a huge choice of local fresh fish, to delicatessen meats, cheeses, olives, and even sweets. For this purpose, the creators requested a pair of CAS LP-1 label printing scales, which we were happy to supply and install. These scales have a large amount of varied functionality, and in this instance were programmed to print a label giving such information as the type of product sold, its weight, its cost per KG, the total cost, and the use-by date, as well as the shop's name.

We will shortly be working with Cook's to progress their use of the stock module, including keeping track of over 100 different types of fish, not to mention the wide range of delicatessen items!
